The Best Time To Post on Your Social Media Channels

So we decided to collected all the information we have about communication online and on social channels into one place. We’ve collected reports and stats on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, email and blogging. Also we’ve analyzed the studies from TrackMaven, KissMetrics, and Buffer. All that to help you find the best time to communicate with your audience in each format.

The tricky thing is that there are the most popular times to post on social media channels and the most effective times. Some marketers confuse those two.  The most popular time is when many people are posting. But for the marketers this is not the optimal time to engage with the audience because people may be missing your messages in the flood of posts in their stream.  The most effective time is when the news feed is not flooded with messages and people have time to read and click. That is when your brand can get the highest engagement, Click-through rate (CTR), the most Likes and Shares.

This infographic lists the most popular and most effective times to post to all the major social media sites: Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Email list and your blog. While all audiences are different, you can use these times as a general guide. Here are the most effective times to post to each channel:

Facebook: Thursday, Friday, 12 pm – 2pm

LinkedIn: Tue, Wed, Thu,  7am – 8am, 5pm – 6pm

Twitter: Wed, Sat, Sun, 1pm – 3pm, 5pm – 6pm

Email: Thursday, 1pm – 4pm

Blog: Saturday 11 am


Please keep in mind that all audiences are different. Your followers and visitors might prefer using social media sites during other hours. So our suggestion would be to use this guide as just a guide to help you work out what to test for your own audience. And only tests will let you know what actually works best in your specific case, when you gain more shares, and have an increase in traffic.
